Cultivating Outdoor Nature-Based Education: Launch of CONNECT Project!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the CONNECT Project — “Cultivating Outdoor Nature-Based Education for Competence and Teaching” — an exciting new European initiative aiming to reconnect students and teachers with nature through innovative outdoor learning practices.
Project Overview
The CONNECT project, financed by the European Union under the Erasmus+ Programme (Small-scale partnerships in school education – KA210-SCH), officially starts on 1st March 2025 and runs for 18 months, concluding on 30th July 2026.
This project seeks to foster environmental awareness, develop key competences, and promote wellbeing by moving educational activities into nature. Students and teachers will engage in experiential, outdoor learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving skills while building a sustainable mindset.

A Green Future in the Digital World
In order to improve the resilience of nature and mitigate the negative effects of climate change, European policies have been raised to support the development of more sustainable systems, such as the European Green Deal Strategy. They are at the levers of a low-carbon transition, where environmentally friendly solutions represent great potential. Existing research still shows a significant lack of systemic education curricula and training about diverse elements of climate mitigation, as well as a lack of ecological education from a holistic perspective, starting from primary education, through university, and vocational education.

Comfy House: Innovative pedagogies for sustainable building renovations
The European Green Deal is at the heart of the new EU agenda. Its aim is to make Europe climate neutral in 2050. The energy efficiency renovation of buildings is one of the levers for a low-carbon transition, where building renovation solutions represent great potential. The conclusions of the Global Summit 2020 show that stimulating education and green skills at all levels of education are critical for enhancing the opportunities for regional development.
The aim of the ComfyHouse project is to develop and implement an innovative, tailored-made educational programme for teachers and pupils that will increase kids’ understanding of the renovation of houses for their energy efficiency purposes.

The World of Entrepreneurship with STEM
The teachers’ recruitment crisis is a challenge for almost all of Europe, leaving EU countries with pedagogical shortages in the educational sector. On top of that, the educational system struggles to follow new global challenges, climate change and the need to adapt the educational sector to these changes. It does not equip teachers with proper competence that would help them introduce digitalisation and necessary skills to educational curricula. Aksantys, as a leader, together with other European partners, decided to perform a project where; by collaborating together, we aim to respond to these challenges.

Upskilling performers in the digital data exchange standards of the streaming platforms
The project’s objective is to upskill and support performers to leverage their opportunities of the digital supply chain, monetising the online content and protecting their intellectual property. It will be supported through (1) exchange of best practices and competences for gaining access to knowledge for improving the overall positioning of performers and (2) providing guidance for revenue opportunities for performing artists through the creation of a Competence centre for digital transformation

Fostering new digital care models in healthcare and social care sectors
The post-pandemic reality has speeded up the processes of adaptation of e-care solutions and the implementation of the digital tools in the health care sector. It also uncovered several obstacles that slow the digital transformation processes in the health and social care. One of the identified barriers is the reluctance of the sectoral professionals to engage in technology due to the lack of proper digital skills (Conventry University, 2020).
In the e4CARE project we are committed at equipping health and social care professionals with the innovative knowledge about the digital technologies redesigning the health and social care, as well as increasing their digital skills for the more effective absorption of the solutions.

Siblinghood of nature
The green and digital transitions are two main trends that are currently shaping the future of the European education and educational systems. The twin transition, however, brings challenges, when it comes to the upskilling activities, building new sustainable environmental awareness and upgrading the interdisciplinary education.
The aim of the Siblinghood of nature project is to bring new value to the educational systems for teachers from three countries: Turkey, Greece and France.

Naturally! Children friendly to nature, nature friendly to children
Naturally! is an innovative project addressing the relevance of the key competences among kids, with the particular focus on social and initiative and awareness skills, through the contact with nature.
The activities of the project include:
- the preparation of an innovative teaching program improving key competences and increasing knowledge on topics related to environmental protection;
- a training Naturally! organized in the form of creative tasks aimed at bringing nature closer to children;
- the preparation of the pedagogical guide for teachers on how to use materials to increase creativity and social skills among children, especially excluded children.

Facilitating youth entrepreneurship through digital tools
In 2018 around 900 000 young adults were leaving school with no formal qualifications, or diploma in France. Existing studies show that 70% of them experienced a NEET status (not in education, employment or training) at least once within the next three years after that. Although for most of them it was a temporary phenomenon, as much as 30% of NEETs stayed inactive in a long-term. The lack of educational and social capital, but also the geographical economic circumstances, were found to be significant factors in remaining in long-term NEET trajectories.
The youth employment supporting organizations in France still suffer in their efficiency, mainly due to the limited financial resources and a lack of human capital. The vocational educational system attracts more the graduates of higher education, and has no significant capacity to identify and approach NEETs.

Mind the (cyber)-gap
During the era of the 5G development, Internet of Things, Clouds and Artificial Intelligence cyber risk is at the highest importance to the private and public sector. Nowadays, cyberattacks can result in hacking the bank accounts, leaking private details, causing significant financial loss, damage of the organization, or the technology system failures of any company. Cyber security is the method of securing mobile devices, operational electronic systems, networks, cloud data and any other IT devices from malicious attacks. Nevertheless, nowadays the term has been broadly used – being applied to every type of security, with no proper categorisation of cyber risks and cyber-threats. This creates the risks of misinterpreting the concept, misunderstanding of the challenges, the wrong implementation of the proper measures and in consequence the higher exposition to the cyber-attacks.

Digital roadmap for SMEs in Mediterranean region
Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) are at the heart of Euro-Mediterranean economies. Nevertheless, they tend to be less productive and innovative than larger companies, causing economic losses for the region. Therefore, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) considers that thriving digitalisation in the MSMEs is a key element for the productivity growth, increased competition, and the generation of the long-term profits in the region. Main shortages identified in the region as barriers in their digital transformation are the lack of the coherent and clear digitalisation strategies, local and regional lack of budgets and capacities to intensify digitalisation efforts, weak infrastructure and use of digital innovation, brain drain and low quality of digital education.

Empowering through digitalisation: Laboratory Experiments for biogas production
The EU is a world leader in biogas production and in particular a world’s leading producer of biomethane, sewage gas and landfill gas. These gases are significant corner stones of a carbon-neutral economy. The EU projections suggest that by 2050 all renewable gases will allow the EU to thrive on a completely renewable energy provision. In addition, the production of biogases is strongly grounded in a circular bio-economy, which allows for optimal use of all resources, nutrient recycling and effective waste treatment solutions. The implementation of digital tools to support the rapid growth of the European biogas industry, prepare markets for the export of related technologies from Europe to developing countries and to enable knowledge transfer and capacity building are considered relevant in these processes.
